U-he has released Repro-1, a reverent model of the classic Sequential Circuits Pro-One monophonic analog synthesizer, recreated with all of the personality and quirks of the original, but with a new charm all its own. “Like the original, Repro-1 is a fierce synth: Hard working, raw sounding, and immensely playable. Repro-1 follows in the footsteps of Diva—striving for authentic analogue sound—but attains new levels of accuracy with component-level modelling. One is based on a Sequential Circuits Pro one (U-HE), the other on the Mini Moog (Legend). Repro having a dirtier sicker sound. I would suggest trying both demos and seeing which you prefer. Personally I like Repro and Diva. This video, via Starsky Carr, compares the sound of U-He Repro-1 to a vintage Sequential Circuits Pro-One. “The similarities are simply stunning,” notes Carr. “I take a look at the oscillators, followed by the filters then make a couple of useable sounds and add a sequence.
